Parking Brake Shoe Replacement (Full Set)
On many vehicles (especially those with rear disc brakes), the parking brake uses separate drum shoes located inside the "hat" of the brake rotor. Over time, these shoes wear out, delaminate, or seize up due to infrequent use.
Signs of failure:

The parking brake fails to hold the vehicle on a hill.

Excessive travel of the parking brake lever (too many "clicks").

Grinding or scraping noises from the rear wheels while driving.

The brake lever is stuck or moves with suspiciously little resistance.

Removal of rear brake calipers and discs to access the mechanism.

Cleaning the internal parking brake components from dust and rust.

Replacement of the parking brake shoe set and hardware (springs/clips) if needed.
