CV Boot Replacement (Inner or Outer — 1 pc.)
The CV boot seals the joint, keeping the essential grease in and contaminants out. Even a small tear allows grease to escape and abrasive dirt to enter, which can destroy the CV joint within days. Replacing a boot early is a cost-effective way to avoid replacing the entire drive axle.
Signs of a damaged boot:
-
Dark, thick grease splattered on the inside of the wheel or suspension components.
-
Visible cracks or tears in the rubber boot during inspection.
-
Unusual noises (clicking while turning for the outer joint or vibrations for the inner joint).
What is included in the service:
-
Partial or full removal of the drive axle.
-
Removal of the old boot and thorough cleaning of the joint to remove contaminated grease.
-
Inspection of the joint for wear or pitting.
-
Repacking with fresh, high-quality CV joint grease.
-
Installation of the new boot and securing it with specialized heavy-duty clamps.
