Clutch Kit Replacement (Transmission R&I for 4WD Vehicles)
Clutch replacement on a 4WD vehicle is a labor-intensive process that requires the removal of not only the transmission but also 4WD system components (transfer case, drive shafts). We provide a full service cycle following strict technical guidelines for SUVs and AWD passenger cars.
Signs of clutch wear:
-
Slipping: Engine RPM increases, but vehicle speed does not.
-
Burning smell: A distinct odor from the friction plates under load.
-
Difficulty shifting: Gears are hard to engage or make a grinding noise.
-
Vibration and noise: Unusual sounds when pressing the clutch pedal (release bearing).
What is included in the service:
-
Removal of drive shafts and the transfer case.
-
Removal of the transmission.
-
Installation of a complete clutch kit: disc, pressure plate, and release bearing.
-
Inspection of the dual-mass flywheel (if equipped).
-
Inspection and, if necessary, replacement of the rear main crankshaft seal.
-
Reassembly and system calibration (for electronically controlled systems).
