Brake Caliper Servicing (Maintenance & Lubrication)
Regular caliper maintenance prevents seizing, rotor warping due to overheating, and uneven pad wear. This procedure restores smooth brake operation without the need to replace expensive components.
What is included in the service:
-
Disassembly: Removing the caliper and taking out the slide pins and brake pads.
-
Cleaning: Removing brake dust, dirt, and corrosion from the pad contact points and the caliper bracket.
-
Boot Inspection: Checking the integrity of the piston dust seal and slide pin boots.
-
Slide Pin Lubrication: Applying specialized high-temperature grease (PAG or silicone-based) to the slide pins to ensure free movement.
-
Anti-Squeal Application: Applying anti-seize or ceramic paste to the back of the pads to prevent noise.
-
Reassembly & Testing: Reinstalling all components and verifying that the wheel rotates freely without drag.
