Front Wheel Bearing Replacement (1 pc.)
The wheel bearing allows the wheel to rotate smoothly and quietly. It is a high-stress component, and its condition is vital for both comfort and safety: a seized bearing at high speed can lead to a dangerous loss of control.
Signs of a faulty bearing:
-
Humming or growling noise: A sound that increases with vehicle speed and changes pitch when cornering.
-
Wheel play: Noticeable movement when the wheel is shaken while the car is on a lift.
-
Vibration: Felt through the steering wheel or vehicle floor.
-
Overheating: The wheel hub area becomes excessively hot after driving.
What is included in the service:
-
Removal of the brake caliper, rotor, and steering knuckle.
-
Pressing out the old bearing (or hub assembly) using a hydraulic press.
-
Cleaning and inspecting the bearing housing/bore in the steering knuckle.
-
Pressing in the new bearing correctly (applying force only to the outer race).
-
Reassembling the hub, installing snap rings, and mounting the knuckle.
-
Torquing the axle nut strictly to manufacturer specifications using a torque wrench.
