Rear Shock Absorber Replacement (1 pc.)
Rear shock absorbers provide vehicle stability and prevent the rear wheels from losing contact with the road during braking and cornering. A faulty shock absorber makes the car feel unstable and causes the rear axle to bounce or hop over bumps.
Signs of failure:
-
The rear of the car continues to bounce after hitting a speed bump or pothole.
-
Visible oil leaks on the shock absorber body.
-
Dull thudding or knocking noises from the trunk area while driving.
-
Excessive rear-end "sagging" under load.
What is included in the service:
-
Removing the mounting bolts from the chassis and the rear control arm/axle.
-
Inspecting the condition of the bump stop and dust boot.
-
Priming: Mandatory bleeding of the new shock absorber before installation to prime the internal valves.
-
Installation of the new shock absorber.
-
Tightening the mounting bolts with the suspension under load (at ride height) to prevent premature bushing wear.
